The Judgment
Never Sleeps.
Your infrastructure has a guardian.
Self-hosted monitoring that weighs every heartbeat.
All the power. One Go binary.
anubis init && anubis serveSee the whole picture.
Keep the balance.
From the first heartbeat to the final verdict.
Your services, their history and the signals that
matter — together in one embedded dashboard.
Your services, in balance.
Small footprint.
Divine attention to detail.
The tools to understand what’s happening.
The independence to run them your way.
One guardian.
Or a whole pack.
Start with a single node. Expand into a Raft cluster with distributed Jackals and region-aware probes.
CONSENSUS
A heartbeat is good.
A full journey is better.
Multi-step HTTP checks, assertions and persisted run history. Follow the path your users depend on.
Right signal.
Right destination.
Route alerts to the tools your team already uses. Nine dispatch channels, one clear verdict.
Everything it needs.
Nothing to babysit.
Embedded CobaltDB storage and a React dashboard, served by the same binary. No separate database service to provision.
A guardian that speaks
your language.
REST, gRPC, WebSocket, SSE and Prometheus metrics. An authenticated MCP endpoint for tools and AI agents.
Ten protocols.
One watchful eye.
From a public API to a quiet mail server.
Every layer of your infrastructure gets a guardian.
Go beyond a 200 OK.
Validate status codes, response bodies and JSON paths. Set headers, follow redirects and enforce latency thresholds.

Ancient language. Practical engineering.
Five steps from a service to an actionable alert.
Give a service a name, a target and a check interval. This is the soul Anubis will watch.

an eternal guardian.
In the Hall of Ma’at, Anubis tended the scales. A heart was weighed against a feather — the measure of truth, order and balance.
We bring that same watchfulness to your infrastructure. Each service is a soul. Every check is a judgment. Every alert, a verdict.

Ask the communityWhat do I need to run AnubisWatch?
The release binary contains the dashboard and storage engine. Download the build for your operating system, run anubis init, then anubis serve. Building from source requires Go and Node.js; the source quick-start script handles the build.
Is this a hosted monitoring service?
AnubisWatch is self-hosted. Your monitors, check history and configuration live on infrastructure you control. This website introduces the project; its interactive preview uses sample data and does not monitor real services.
Do I need a cluster?
No. Standalone mode runs a single process with embedded storage. Use single-node Raft or a multi-node Necropolis when you want replicated state and region-aware probe distribution.
Can it monitor a complete user journey?
Yes. Multi-step synthetic Journeys support assertions and persisted run history. Use them to check a sequence of HTTP requests rather than just one endpoint.
How does the Egyptian mythology fit?
In ancient Egyptian belief, Anubis tended the scales that weighed a person’s heart against the feather of Ma’at, the principle of truth and order. The project borrows that language: services are Souls, checks are Judgments, and alert decisions are Verdicts. The story is a metaphor for measuring service health.
Can my tools and AI agents connect?
Yes. AnubisWatch exposes REST, gRPC, WebSocket and SSE APIs, Prometheus metrics and an authenticated MCP JSON-RPC endpoint. The repository documents the available APIs and MCP tools.
What license does it use?
AnubisWatch is open source under Apache 2.0. Read the license in the project repository for the terms.
